Nice find! Acadians rock, weren't they a Canada only model/brand?

I'm not a fan of silver cars but the silver on black on red looks wicked and I love the wheels. How's the 6 in that thing? When do the turbos go on?

Yeah, Acadians were a Canada only "manufacturer". I dont really like the silver, but it's growin on me... it'll get painted red one day but the paint is nearly show quality. It's seen a bit over a 1000 miles since the resto.

Dom, yeah... Too much travel, too many 70 work-weeks. I've maybe put an hour of work into the SS since August after poking 5 holes in the frame rails. I'll end up fixing the floors, and getting the new quarters on and have a shop replace the rails, put in tubs, and a rollcage, I have a 454 and a TH400 to put in it and will do a straight axle front suspension with radiused rear wheel wells... 60s gasser work.

Just need to rip out the front suspension, install a Mustang II front clip, an LS1/4L60e, and 17" Cragars or Coys. Should be doable this winter/spring unless I start traveling more than the 25% of the time I am now.

I'm enjoying driving it with the six and the 'glide a lot more than I thought I would... it's as about as quick as a 2.2 but with only 2nd and 3rd gear. It cruises real nice at 60, but starts to buzz at 70... at 75 you cant hear the AM radio at all.

looks like a nice clean find, I don't normally like red interiors, but that is clean

Pat... Damn lighter is going to be $50+ repop... thankfully they're generic Chevy parts and not Acadian only. Hopefully can find a decent original one for half that.

Steve... LS1!!!!!!!111. And a crappy 4l60e to back it up. No boost, no problems! More than enough power for a 225 wide tire.

And I don't know your name... a red or blue interior was an absolute must. I've spent 6 months looking for the right car. Spent a little more than I wanted too, but a car in Vancouver is a lot less hassle than a car in Arizona or Texas.

nothing wrong with a 4l60e, my shop has built a couple holding 500-600hp. however if your planning more a 4l80e isnt that much more work.

I will take a look in my stash of old parts, I seem to remember passing a lighter that may match in my travels.
I hope you took my comment on the color as a compliment, that was what I intended, but re-reading it I can see how it could be taken either way

my name is Rich by the way

Well, I ordered an LS1+4L60e for it today, should be here in a couple weeks.

Still need to source a front clip, TCI wont drop ship to Canada and their stuff is much nicer than Heidts... guess I'll have to call Hot Rods & Classics out in Chilliwack and go visit my parents. Bah, just about cheaper to ship it from the States than it is to get on that damn Ferry.
