Wondering if we will have anyone representing the j-bodies on their upcoming spring meet. I will go, however i've always hoped to see more J's come out, and represent the group.

Yeah, with this weather lately I'd like to be driving it.. such a mild winter!! But at the moment, there's no front end on it... just sold off the TRD kit, fenders and hood..

well given the responses, I'd like to do my bit of a rant:

As a proud j-body owner, I actually get ridiculed a lot at having this car. I don't take it personally because I believemost ppl don't KNOW that a jbody can look/drive good.

But why do people not know? Because NO ONE ever shows up to support our group at these events. Everyone whines "it's so far, I have this and that, wah wah wah". But seriously, some people show up from fucking Abbotsford to support their clubs. And i'm usually the ONLY J-BODY THERE.

We say there's not enough members. Well, if no one knows, how can we promote the j's??? I've seen a frew around town, and I'm 100% sure they don't even know we exist. I'd like ppl on this board to AT LEAST tell me if they can come, and actually do onE OF THESE DAYS.

I strongly believe we have zero support in the lower mainland, and it's no wonder ppl don't know, have or mod j-bodies in vancouver. 'cuz the support groups at this time are SHIT.

If you take pride in your J, show up. If i/we don't see you there, then you'd have no rights to brag about your car. Ever. Period.

Well in all seriousness. NO ONE supports our own group. It's idiotic. It's pretentious even.
u know, of all people how deathly loyal I am to the J's, and I'm just sick of ppl saying they like it but never support it. RS meets are a huge things. It's brings massive EXPOSURE. We should all be there.

Ok, I will make my appearance

We run into this problem time and time again. Even when we plan just J-body meets.

5 years ago when John and I first started dating and I got involved in this group, tons of people would show. We'd enter the cars into Importfest together, DTP, go to the Langley Cruise in together, take our cars to Mission Raceway, have monthly wing meets, etc. However time has changed for many of us.

A lot of the members don't have the time anymore. Many of us have other things going on in our lives that take priority over attending meets and such. Many of us are married now, own our own houses, have kids or have babies on the way and have careers. Not everyone has weekends off, some people's schedules don't allow for them to attend meets. Doesn't mean they don't want to, they just can't. Doesn't mean they don't take pride in their cars anymore.

I take a lot of offensive to someone saying that if you don't show up to meets then you have no right to brag about your car. Ever. Period. You don't know everyone's situation. And saying something like that might have just deterred someone from showing up, words like that aren't very supportive.

Yes, it would be nice to have a larger representation of J-bodies at RS meets and even our own meets for that matter. But for some, time and what is going on in their lives just doesn't allow it.

I understand where you're coming from, but please remember, I also have my own life and priorities. So does FastOne, And your man too.

However, I know how busy John and jason both are, and they have at LEAST showed up a few times.
I'm not here to rag on ppl who can't show 'cuz they have families/houses, etc

I'm talking about the ones who don't even bother 'cuz it's "just too far"


Please don't assume i'm just some guy who dicks around all day. Even half the ppl at RS meets. They ALL have somthing going on. They all manage to come out. I'm not saying EVERY event, etc.

I just don't see Jbodies. EVER. Never.

I've managed to be able to drop by every RS meet since 2007, except one. Luck of the draw I guess.

And in all those times, I've only seen 2 others. Jason's, and John's.

That's because everyone else is sick and tired of the douchebags on RS ragging on us J-body owners, because we drive Cavaliers and Sunfires. I still get it every once in a while on the forums... but I don't let it get to me. I'm still faster than most of the shitheads on there. And unlike most of the morons on RS who don't know how to do anything to their own cars, most of us here built ours ourselves... not paid someone else to do it for us.

I show up to meets when I can... because I want to. But not everyone on here cares about RS anymore. (or ever did, for that matter).

Seems like no one gives a shit about the j's. Not that RS is something I have to show off at, just'd be nice to be able to let ppl know the j's are around, and I guess I just wanna expand th j body group here in Vancouver. =p

Maybe you should organize some local J-body meets Probably get more members out if we had regular meets again.. I don't have the time anymore, but I know there are lots of new people coming to this forum. time to start getting the word out more!
